Early this morning the French authorities evicted the camp at Grande-Synthe in the Dunkirk area. The families were once again driven out and intimidated into boarding buses headed to an unknown destination. Small makeshift camps like that pictured were forcibly vacated, with people then being denied access to recover their belongings.
Regardless, within hours, up to a hundred people had returned while the police and CRS lurked nearby.
Fortunately with the van load from Tony Sterry last week and generous donations from Julie Ropert and Dana Gloger this week we are able to respond and provide support and needed items over these coming days.
As ever though, we always need more. The weather is getting worse and temperatures are dropping. If you would like to donate or be involved please get in contact.
