It is true to say that none of what we do would be possible without the support and bloody hard work of so many people.
Despite the incessant effort of the French authorities to discourage and intimidate both refugees and volunteers alike, and the all too familiar awful weather, it has been a productive week.
Aidan and Andy, who have supported us since the start both made it over last week, bringing cars full of donations. Yesterday we were joined by old 'Jungle' friends Tony and Amy who arrived with a van full of again desperately needed items, such as tents and winter jackets. The combined efforts of the Witney Refugee Action Group, High Wycombe-Aylesbury-Bucks Jungle Solidarity Group and Sandra Storm have helped replenish some of our supplies following weeks of struggling.
Back in the UK legendary fundraiser Natalie and her Walthamstow group did an incredible job raising money for us, as did our very own Loa with Glasgow Refugee and Asylum Seeker Solidarity - GRASS We cannot stress enough the importance of these financial donations, and our gratitude to every one of you who has contributed, whether via our page or directly.
The weather is getting worse and things are now only going to get harder. We are so fortunate to have the support of many determined and compassionate people, but with winter around the corner, we need help now more than ever. As always, if you want to donate or be involved, get in touch.
